Events are also first come, first play, and certain events may be, as they say, while supplies last. We are continuing our Page to Play Book Readings and Play Activities at the store. We will be doing Page to Play at 10:30am on every Tuesday. Page to Play is our own custom designed reading and play-based activity program. We start out with a book reading. We then pull the themes and ideas off the page and incorporate them into a play-based activity. These play activities are designed to both reinforce and enhance understanding of the book, as well as to demonstrate techniques and methods whereby books and stories can be incorporated into fun and imaginative play. Saturday, July 4: We will be closing early at 2pm (hours 9am-2pm). Tuesday, July 7: 10:30am: Page to Play (see above for event details) reading Harold and the Purple Crayon, followed by a sidewalk chalk drawing activity. Thursday, July 9: 10:30-11am: Music for Children with Teacher Amy! Friday, July 10th: 4-5pm: Game Day! Come check out our new game Flibbix! Flibbix is the fun and exciting new game where you easily build your own board game using magnetic game board tiles, choose your own rules, and play. Race to the finish, but watch how wacky things get along the way as the board and rules change during the game. Tuesday, July 14: 10:30am: Page to Play (see above for event details). Friday, July 17: 4pm-5:30pm: Thomas Play Day! Enter to win 4 tickets to a Day Out With Thomas on Saturday July 25th at Roaring Camp Railroads, plus lots of other fun activities and prizes. No purchase required to enter. Saturday-Sunday, July 18-19: Connoisseurs' Marketplace. Stroll down Santa Cruz Avenue and take in art, food and music at the 23rd annual Connoisseurs' Marketplace. The 2009 festival will feature the return of artisan-produced specialty food in Connoisseurs’ Corner, an Organic, Healthy & Green products showcase, and an infusion of new artists with fresh work and a variety of price points. The Kids Fun Zone will also return with endless amusements. Tuesday, July 21: 10:30am: Page to Play (see above for event details). Thursday, July 23: 10:30-11am: Music for Children with Teacher Amy! Friday, July 24: 4-5pm: Work your brain with Brain Noodles! Brain Noodles are jumbo silky fiber stems that bend any way you want - they're like a big, super soft pipe cleaner. Tuesday, July 28: 10:30am: Page to Play (see above for event details). Friday, July 31: 4-5pm: Make a Picture Frame activity.
